Tug tug tug

Dear Ziggy,

We stuck it out.

I am glad I didn’t completely quit because there are so many times when you will not be comforted by anything but.

You’ve started grabbing my necklace when you nurse. Daddy bought me that necklace for my birthday (while I was carrying you). I picked it out as a symbol of you - we knew you were a boy and I knew you already had my heart. I’ve only taken it off a couple of times since then.

To see this photo of your chubby little hand tugging at that little blue heart amazes me. I still find myself in awe of you and in awe that my hopes were realized.

I’m not going to make you let go any time soon. Keep tugging away.

3 Months!

Dear Ziggy,

Happy 3 months! I can finally say I’m truly getting the hang of being your Mommy. It took a while, but now I know exactly what you want, and when you want it.

You have grown so much in these 3 months. And I have, too.

Last night I dreamt you were crawling and in my dream you told me you loved me. I can’t wait for both of these things to happen.

I can’t wait for you to crawl, because although you’ll be crawling away from me, you will be crawling towards a world of new experiences and adventures.

And I can’t wait for you to know what love is so you can begin to understand just how much I love you.
