More Firsts

You got your first round of shots a few weeks back and only cried for less than a minute and then you were just fine. I should’ve known you’d handle it beautifully. Everything about you is easy (so far, knock on wood). Sometimes I brag about how easy and happy and perfect you are.
One of my friends had a difficult baby and told me that he thinks the easy babies look like stage props - like “plastic heads on sticks, or something like that”. Well you’re no stage prop, you’re realer than real and I am enjoying the heck out of this peaceful time with you. I’ve taken to calling you my little angel.
You’ve discovered your hands in the last few weeks and I love watching you begin to explore and learn about the world around you. We bought you a play gym and you would spend hours kicking and batting at the monkey and the parrot it if we let you.
Everyone tells me to hold on to this time and to enjoy every minute of it. I think I am, but at the same time I look forward to every new milestone and wait patiently as you grow and grow.
I hope you are always full of wonder.
