Firsts

Dear Dan Ziggy,

It’s been almost 4 weeks since you got here. I have to say it’s been a pretty big rollercoaster ride so far. My body is learning how to subsist on a very few hours of sleep and I must say, it’s pretty amazing how little a person can live on.

You are an easy baby so far. You don’t really fuss unless there’s a good reason. You smile and laugh already and have been doing it from the start. You usually do this after I feed you and it’s so darn adorable I melt every time.

I have a couple of nicknames for you. Besides the ones having to do with your favorite pastime (pooping), my favorite is “snuffles”. You make these cute snuffly noises sometimes when you are impatient and want something. Snuffle, snort, snuffle, snort.

You were very relaxed during your first bath. Some babies hate bath time but you are not one of them. Daddy calls it your ’spa time’. Hehe.

I think I’m starting to get the hang of things. Daddy went back to work this week and that first day alone with you was so hard, I cried. I’m sure the lack of sleep wasn’t helping. Well, stuff must be okay now if I’m able to blog!

Yesterday we had our first outing, just you and I. I drove you to your new doctor’s office. He’s much nicer than your first doctor. He made me feel so much better about everything. He’s been a doctor longer than I’ve been alive, is probably why.

These are just a few of your “firsts” and there are going to be so many more.
We have a world of things to look forward to, me, you, and Daddy.
