Shower

Dear Ziggy,

Your mama is a big pile of mush right now. Yesterday was your baby shower and it was just perfect. The food, the location, the people (of course) and the thoughtfulness were unparalleled. We couldn’t have asked for more. Everyone is beyond excited to meet you and they showered us with so many adorable and wonderful gifts for you.

I have a confession to make. I find myself sitting here getting emotional over onesies and pajama sets. I can’t help it! Everything is just so tiny and imagining you inside these itty bitty clothes chokes me up like crazy. There’s a huge bin of baby togs for me to wash up and tuck away into your little dresser drawers. There are 2 diaper cakes sitting here next to me. There’s a pile of goodies and toys and books and much much more. Now all I need is YOU!

There’s even a betting pool that has to do with your birth weight. Everybody got in on that one at the shower! There is so much anticipation in the air, people are saying you will arrive much sooner than your due date. I’m getting big and heavy and my feet swell up every day but I don’t mind. A few more weeks with you all to myself is worth it. Because when you do make your way into this world I’m going to have to share you and I know that’s going to be hard. Right now you’re all mine and I’m going to cherish every last day I get with you. I love you sweet baby.
