Dear Baby o Mine,

Your Uncle Derek visited this past week because it was my birthday. And because he wanted to see my big belly. He’s so excited to be your uncle and he even got to feel you kick at one point!

This birthday was one of my most memorable birthdays because I have you inside of me and one day you will have birthdays, too! I can’t wait to celebrate them. Not to mention Christmas, Easter, and Halloween. Everything’s going to be more fun with you around. You’ve already made my world brighter and you’re not even here yet! I just can’t imagine how amazing things are going to be when you actually arrive.

Your daddy has been able to feel you moving around inside my stomach for a while now. Your little fluttery movements have turned into pokes and jabs. You’re strong for just 23 weeks! We got a really good picture of your face a few weeks back and I sit and stare at it all the time. I am in love with your cute little nose, mouth, and chin. Oh, and the rest of you, too! I always tell your daddy he’s my sunshine, but I have a sneaking suspicion you might become my new sunshine once you are here. Shh, don’t tell him I said that.

There are 17 more weeks until I get to meet you. That feels like forever but between now and then there are a bunch of things going on to help me pass the time. First, your great grandfather is turning 80 years old and we’re throwing him a big party. One day soon you will get to meet him. He tells lots of neat stories. And your grandma is planning a party in honor of you in July. Yes, a party for YOU! You’re pretty special, you know. In case you hadn’t figured that out yet.
